Job Description: Role Summary: The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier quality performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the supply chain. This role works closely with suppliers, internal quality teams, engineering, and purchasing departments to maintain product quality standards, reduce defects, and strengthen supplier relationships. The position plays a key role in evaluating supplier capabilities, resolving quality issues, and driving long-term process excellence for both suppliers and the organization. Job Responsibilities: Conduct on-site and virtual quality system audits to assess supplier capability in meeting quality standards. Develop supplier quality plans, review technical drawings, and approve PPAP / FAIR (Production Part Approval Process / First Article Inspection Report) documentation. Investigate non-conforming materials and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers. Track supplier performance metrics such as defects per million and on-time delivery, and lead supplier performance reviews. Act as the technical liaison between purchasing, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues, while providing training and support as required. Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes using quality tools such as 8D, PFMEA, GD&T, and SPC. Maintain inspection reports, test reports, and metallurgical reports from suppliers. Conduct and verify material testing / selection (Steel, Plastics, etc.) against standards such as ASTM, DIN, and IS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Desired Competencies / Skills: Documentation Training .
