Director / Manager of Finance & Operations U.S. Finance & AccountingLocation India Remote This position is based in India and supports a U.S.-based company. The successful candidate must have strong experience working with U.S. companies and U.S. accounting and financial reporting practices . This is a full-time, hands-on individual-contributor position . The role does not currently have a finance or accounting team reporting to it. Role Description The Director of Finance & Operations is responsible for the day-to-day financial and operational management of SimpleChime, a U.S.-based healthcare technology company. While the position is located in India, the individual will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial records and reporting according to U.S. accounting practices and standards and must be comfortable working with U.S. customers, vendors, banks, accountants, and company leadership. This is not a traditional Director position focused primarily on managing a team. The person in this role will personally perform and own the company's day-to-day finance and accounting work . Responsibilities include bookkeeping, accounting, customer invoicing, collections, accounts payable, bank and account reconciliations, month-end close, financial statements, cash-flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. Core ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Accounting Personally manage the company's day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks . Maintain an accurate general ledger and chart of accounts. Record and properly categorize financial transactions. Manage journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and other accounting adjustments. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance-sheet reconciliations. Manage the monthly financial close process. Maintain accurate supporting documentation and financial records. Coordinate with the company's U.S. CPA, tax advisors, payroll providers, and other outside financial partners. Maintain the books in accordance with appropriate U.S. accounting and reporting practices . Financial Statements & Reporting The candidate must have the ability to independently create, review, understand, and explain financial statements , including: Income Statement / Profit & Loss Statement (P&L;) Balance Sheet Cash Flow Statement The individual should understand how transactions flow through the financial statements and be able to identify errors, inconsistencies, unusual trends, and areas requiring management attention. The role will prepare monthly financial reporting for company leadership and provide clear explanations of actual results versus budget and forecast. Cash Flow Management Maintain visibility into the company's current cash position. Prepare and maintain short- and long-term cash-flow forecasts. Forecast expected customer collections and company expenditures. Manage the timing of accounts receivable and accounts payable. Identify potential cash-flow issues before they occur. Provide leadership with regular reporting on cash position and expected future cash requirements. Understand the relationship between profitability, working capital, and actual cash generation. Customer Invoicing & Collections This position personally owns the customer billing and collection process , including: Creating and sending customer invoices. Ensuring invoices are accurate and sent on schedule. Recording and reconciling customer payments. Maintaining accounts-receivable aging reports. Monitoring outstanding and past-due invoices. Personally following up with customers on unpaid invoices. Resolving billing discrepancies and payment issues. Driving timely collection of accounts receivable. Providing leadership with visibility into overdue accounts and collection risks. Accounts Payable & Vendors Review and process vendor invoices. Maintain vendor records. Coordinate and schedule vendor payments. Ensure expenses are properly categorized and recorded. Reconcile vendor accounts when necessary. Manage selected vendor relationships and contracts. FP&A; & Business Operations Develop and maintain annual budgets and financial forecasts. Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis. Develop management dashboards and KPIs. Monitor revenue, expenses, gross margin, profitability, and cash flow. Support leadership with financial modeling and business analysis. Help establish scalable operational processes and internal controls. Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Support leadership on strategic initiatives and long-term planning. Required Qualifications Significant hands-on QuickBooks experience is required. Strong understanding of U.S. accounting practices and financial reporting . Prior experience supporting the finance/accounting function of a U.S.-based company is strongly preferred . Demonstrated ability to independently create and analyze .
