About the Role: Snapmint is looking for a Backend Engineer (SDE I) who enjoys solving real-world problems at scale and building reliable backend systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers and product managers to develop backend services powering Snapmints fintech platform. This role offers significant learning opportunities, strong mentorship, and exposure to building scalable distributed systems in a fast-growing product company. Responsibilities: Build and maintain backend services and APIs used by Snapmint productsWrite clean, maintainable, and production-quality codeCollaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and senior backend engineers to deliver featuresParticipate in code reviews and improve engineering quality and standardsContribute to debugging, performance improvements, and reliability of servicesLearn and implement scalable cloud-native and distributed system practicesContinuously improve your technical skills and engineering craft Qualifications: BE/BTech in Computer Science or related field13 years of backend development experience Required Skills: Strong experience with Node.js and JavaScriptExperience working with databases such as PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDBGood understanding of data structures and algorithmsStrong problem-solving skills Preferred Skills: Familiarity with REST APIs and microservicesExposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure)Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architecturesUnderstanding of testing practices and automationContributions to open-source or personal GitHub projects are a plus .

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
