Senior Software Engineer (Python, Cloud & AI) Our site in Pune, India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Python, Cloud & AI) to design, build, and scale modern backend platforms, APIs, and AI-driven systems. In this role, you will develop Python-based APIs and Backend-for-Frontend services using FastAPI, build cloud-native integrations and functions, and contribute to the development of AI agents and orchestration workflows using modern LLM tooling. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions that support enterprise platforms and business workflows. What Youll Do: Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python backend services using FastAPI, following Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) and microservices patterns. Build and manage RESTful APIs and backend components with strong focus on performance, security, and reliability. Develop system integrations and workflows across enterprise platforms using APIs, events, and lightweight cloud functions. Design and implement AI agents and MCPs using LangGraph and modern LLM tooling to support enterprise use cases. Deploy and operate services on GCP using cloud-native services (Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL). Contribute to CI/CD, containerization, and DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and operational stability. Ensure code quality and production readiness through testing, reviews, documentation, and adherence to best practices. Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA to deliver secure, high-quality solutions and mentor team members as needed. What We Seek: Required Qualifications 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong backend development focus. Strong hands-on expertise in Python, building production-grade backend services and APIs. Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices, preferably using FastAPI or similar frameworks. Solid understanding of backend architecture patterns, including Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) and service-oriented design. Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, and SSO. Strong knowledge of relational database design and SQL (PostgreSQL or equivalent). Experience building and deploying applications in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD practices (Docker, pipelines, automated deployments). Proficiency with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with an ownership mindset. Preferred Qualifications Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, and Cloud SQL. Hands-on exposure to AI agent development using LangGraph, MCPs, and modern LLM tooling. Familiarity with event-driven and asynchronous systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or Service Bus). Experience with cloud-native patterns and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent). Knowledge of NoSQL databases and cloud data lakes. Exposure to GraphQL and modern API design patterns. Experience working in Agile / distributed teams on enterprise platforms. Familiarity with AI developer tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code) and automation workflows. Soft Skills Strong ownership mindset with ability to drive work independently from design to production. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, QA, and business teams. Ability to mentor and guide other engineers through reviews and technical discussions. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Comfortable working in ambiguous problem spaces and evolving requirements. Attention to detail with a focus on quality, security, and maintainability. Proactive, continuous-learning attitude with interest in emerging cloud and AI technologies.
