Key Responsibilities and Duties Conduct detailed observation, identification, classification, and documentation of plant species, including studying their morphological, anatomical, physiological, and reproductive characteristics. Collect, preserve, label, and maintain plant specimens, herbarium samples, seeds, tissues, and other biological materials according to standard laboratory and field procedures. Assist in planning and carrying out botanical experiments and research projects, including preparing experimental materials, maintaining observations, recording results, and drawing meaningful conclusions from the findings. Perform basic laboratory procedures related to plant biology, plant physiology, microbiology, genetics, tissue culture, cytology, and biochemistry, depending on the requirements of the organization. Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, chemicals, plant samples, cultures, and experimental materials, ensuring that they are properly stored and readily available for practical work. Maintain accurate and organized laboratory notebooks, research records, field notes, observation sheets, sample registers, and experimental data. Collect data during field visits and surveys and document information related to plant diversity, vegetation, habitats, ecological conditions, and environmental factors. Assist in biodiversity surveys and ecological studies, including identification of local plant species and documentation of their distribution, abundance, and habitat conditions. A B.Sc. or M.Sc. Botany professional should have strong knowledge of plant biology, taxonomy, morphology, anatomy, physiology, ecology, genetics, microbiology, biodiversity, and environmental science. Practical laboratory skills, observation ability, research aptitude, data-recording skills, basic statistical understanding, report-writing ability, and good communication skills are valuable for the role. The individual should be patient and detail-oriented, particularly when working with plant specimens, laboratory experiments, field observations, and research data. The ability to work independently as well as within a team, follow scientific procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and learn new techniques is also important. Contact HR LAVANYA:9566157632
