Role Overview The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is part of Rocket Learning's People & Culture team and partners closely with leaders across an assigned cluster of states to build engaged, high-performing teams that can deliver impact at scale. The HRBP will start by building strong foundations across the employee lifecycle, gradually growing into broader business partnering responsibilities to drive impact. The role will also involve leading an organisation-wide People & Culture initiative contributing to the systems, processes, and programmes that strengthen employee experience at Rocket Learning. Key Responsibilities HR Business Partnering Partner with leaders across the assigned state cluster on people priorities and workforce planning. Serve as the primary People & Culture partner, providing guidance on performance, employee relations, engagement, and talent matters. Identify people trends, risks, and opportunities, and work with leaders to implement appropriate interventions. Partner on performance, talent, and annual compensation review processes across the assigned region. Lead organisational change initiatives and help drive adoption of key People & Culture programmes. Coach and support managers on people practices including performance conversations, employee relations, feedback, and team effectiveness. Organisation-wide People Initiative Own one project with organisation-wide scope, independent of the Sr. HRBP&s own state cluster (e.g., designing and rolling out an engagement survey, performance process rollout, policy harmonisation) Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, hiring priorities, and onboarding effectiveness influencing decisions where needed Work closely with HR Operations & Compliance to ensure consistent implementation of policies, processes, and statutory requirements. Collaborate with Employee Experience and OD teams to strengthen engagement, manager capability, learning initiatives, and organisational culture. Analytics Use people data and insights to inform decisions, identify trends, and recommend improvements. Required Skills & Background Education Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field Experience 5-8 years of HR generalist / HR Business Partner experience Prior experience in the development sector/non-profit/ed-tech//multi-location setup is an advantage Skills Strong generalist knowledge across the HR lifecycle onboarding, performance, engagement, ER, compliance basics Comfort operating in a remote/field-based setting with regular guidance Strong project management skills able to independently plan, coordinate, and deliver a cross- functional, organisation-wide initiative Openness to feedback and coaching, given this is an evolving, newly created role Languages Fluency in English and Hindi. Working knowledge of the regional language of the base state (e.g. Marathi, Telugu) will be required in non-Hindi speaking states. Critical Factors for Success Builds trusted partnerships with leaders and employees across assigned teams. Coaches and influences managers to make sound people decisions. Identifies people challenges proactively and translates insights into practical solutions. Demonstrates ownership and successfully delivers both regional HR priorities and organisation-wide People & Culture initiatives. Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adapting quickly to changing business needs. Demonstrates strong alignment with Rocket Learning's mission, culture, and commitment to social impact. .
