Meet the Team Cisco Intersight is a cloud-native operations platform that provides unified management, automation, visibility, and lifecycle operations for infrastructure across data center, cloud, and edge environments. Its SaaS, on-premises, and mobile offerings depend on secure, reliable automation that enables engineering teams to build, test, release, and operate software at scale. We are looking for an experienced Security Officer / DevSecOps Engineer to provide senior security guidance and hands-on engineering contribution within the Intersight DevSecOps function. This role partners closely with engineering, architecture, product management, SRE, compliance, Cisco's Security and Trust Organization (STO), and leadership teams to help Intersight meet security, privacy, corporate, and regulatory requirements while enabling rapid and secure product delivery. Your Impact In this role, you will be a senior security partner for Intersight engineering and DevSecOps. You will assess security impact, clarify requirements, prioritize risk, guide remediation, and contribute hands-on to security automation, hardening, and remediation work. Assess and guide improvements to the security posture of Intersight applications and delivery workflows across SaaS, on-premises, and mobile offerings. Interpret Cisco-level security mandates, policies, audit requirements, release gates, and security best practices into clear guidance, control expectations, acceptance criteria, and remediation priorities. Partner with development teams, architects, product management, SRE, compliance, and central security teams to review new features, architecture changes, authentication flows, data handling, cloud infrastructure changes, and other security-sensitive designs. Conduct product security risk assessments for new and existing features, identifying gaps, recommending mitigations, and helping teams balance security, usability, and delivery needs. Guide vulnerability management and remediation priorities across automated scans, penetration tests, release security reviews, and security incident response activities, ensuring issues are visible, triaged, assigned, and tracked to closure within SLA. Coordinate annual penetration test planning, findings review, remediation tracking, and stakeholder communication with Cisco security teams and Intersight engineering stakeholders. Support compliance with Cisco security mandates and Build Environment Security requirements by clarifying requirements, identifying evidence needs, reviewing audit findings, and guiding remediation priorities. Support commercial compliance and customer security activities by maintaining security documentation, providing product security context, and helping respond to audit or customer security questions. Provide security guidance and awareness to engineering teams on secure design, secure coding, secrets handling, access control, encryption, data protection, cloud security, and secure delivery practices. Define and contribute to implementation of security automation, reporting, and tooling that improve visibility, reduce manual work, and help teams follow security requirements consistently. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors 11+ years of proven experience. Deep security engineering experience across multiple areas such as application security, cloud infrastructure security, authentication, encryption, data protection, key management, CI/CD security, vulnerability management, or incident response. Experience securing enterprise-scale SaaS, on-premises, or mobile offerings. Experience conducting security reviews, architecture reviews, threat or risk assessments, and translating findings into practical guidance and remediation plans. Experience with vulnerability triage, penetration test findings, automated security scan findings, and SLA-based remediation workflows. Experience working with corporate security mandates, secure development lifecycle requirements, product security standards, compliance requirements, or security audit processes. Hands-on experience implementing security automation, hardening, vulnerability remediation, secure delivery improvements, or related DevSecOps capabilities. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across engineering, security, compliance, product, SRE, and leadership stakeholders to drive alignment and execution. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain security risk, requirements, priorities, and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cisco security mandates, policies, tooling, or product security processes. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
