Role Summary We are looking for Application Engineers to join the team, which builds solutions across personal, digital, and institutional advisory platforms. This is a core development role within a new team, focused on building backend services, APIs, and cloud-based applications from the ground up. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java, Python, Spring Boot, AWS services, API security, and backend development. Exposure to test automation, observability tools, and Agile ways of working will be an added advantage. This role offers strong end-to-end ownership, hands-on engineering exposure, and the opportunity to work on modern cloud and AI-enabled technologies. ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications and APIs. Build secure, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Develop and maintain AWS-based microservices and serverless solutions. Implement API authentication and authorization using OAuth, Okta, and JWT. Monitor application performance using Splunk, Honeycomb, and CloudWatch. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvements. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices. Support production applications and drive service reliability. Willingness to mentor mid and junior level developers on the team Strong communication Skills Good stakeholder management skills to influence technical decisions. Hands-on experience with Agile, Confluence, JIRA, and monitoring and refining dashboards Qualifications and Skills Minimum 5+ years of experience in application development, system analysis, or database management. Bachelors degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelors in Computer Applications (BCA). Proficiency in Java, Spring boot,Python Basics Excellence in AWS - Lambda, step functions, Dynamo DB, S3, ECS . Working knowledge of Splunk, Honeycomb, Cloud watch Good understanding in API security - OAUTH/OKTA jwts Proficiency in TDD / BDD- Test Automation Skills (Cucumber). If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
