Job Title BI Engineer (Power BI) Location: India (Remote) Experience: 23 Years Domain: BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) Practice: Azure Data & AI About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated BI Engineer with 23 years of experience in Power BI development and Azure Data & AI technologies. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building interactive dashboards, data modeling, report optimization, and working with Azure-based data platforms. Experience in the BFSI domain is essential, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, business intelligence, and data visualization. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. Create and manage Power BI Semantic Models for enterprise reporting. Develop efficient DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs. Perform data transformation using Power Query (M Language). Build optimized data models following best practices. Improve report performance through optimization techniques. Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) for secure data access. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights. Integrate Power BI solutions with Azure Data & AI services. Support migration of legacy BI solutions, including SAP Business Objects and SSAS/MSAS to Power BI. Work with data engineering teams to consume data from Azure-based data platforms. Ensure reporting solutions follow governance, security, and compliance standards within the BFSI domain. Required Skills Power BI Power BI Development Power BI Semantic Models DAX Power Query Data Modeling Report Performance Optimization Row-Level Security (RLS) Azure Data & AI Azure Data Factory (ADF) Azure Synapse Analytics (preferred) Azure SQL Database Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2) Azure Databricks (basic knowledge preferred) Understanding of Azure AI services is an added advantage Migration Experience SAP Business Objects Migration SSAS/MSAS Migration to Power BI Database & Querying SQL Data Warehousing concepts ETL/ELT fundamentals Domain Experience 23 years of experience in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) domain. Understanding of banking or insurance reporting, KPIs, regulatory reporting, customer analytics, or financial dashboards. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Microsoft Azure or Power BI certifications are preferred. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Good documentation and presentation skills. Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset. Nice to Have Experience with Git or Azure DevOps.
