Node.js and Express.js will be your primary technologies. You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable APIs, data models, integrations, backend services, and business logic that power our applications. While this is a backend-focused role, you will also work across the stack. You should be comfortable building and modifying features using React.js and Next.js, along with having practical, hands-on experience with React Native. You should be capable of working inside a mobile codebase, integrating APIs, troubleshooting API-related issues, and understanding how backend architecture and API decisions impact mobile performance and offline functionality. You will own assigned modules end-to-endfrom data modeling and API development through integration, testing, deployment, and production supportwith architectural guidance from senior engineers. Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js and Express.js. Design efficient data models and work extensively with PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Develop and manage database schemas, migrations, indexes, relationships, and complex queries. Analyze and optimize database performance, including identifying and resolving slow queries. Implement secure authentication, authorization, RBAC, input validation, and data protection mechanisms. Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, notification services, and cloud storage solutions. Develop background jobs, queues, scheduled tasks, and caching mechanisms for resource-intensive operations. Maintain clear API documentation and ensure stable API contracts for web and mobile applications. Full-Stack & Mobile Development Build and modify frontend features using React.js and Next.js, including forms, dashboards, data tables, and API integrations. Support the React Native application by integrating APIs, troubleshooting backend-related issues, and addressing payload and performance concerns. Understand and account for mobile performance, offline behavior, and API efficiency when designing backend solutions. Ownership & Engineering Practices Own assigned modules from data model and API design through testing, deployment, and production support. Write comprehensive unit, integration, and API tests for critical application workflows. Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot backend services on AWS. Investigate and resolve production issues efficiently. Participate actively in code reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making. Collaborate effectively with frontend, mobile, QA, product, and engineering teams. Required Technical & Professional Expertise 3+ years of professional experience in backend-heavy full-stack development. Strong production-level expertise in Node.js and Express.js. Strong command of JavaScript (ES6+) and hands-on experience with TypeScript. Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, relationships, migrations, indexing, and query optimization. Working experience with MongoDB and document-oriented data modeling. Proven experience designing, versioning, documenting, and maintaining REST APIs for web and mobile applications. Strong understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT, OAuth, refresh tokens, and RBAC. Working proficiency in React.js and Next.js, with the ability to independently build and modify frontend features. Hands-on experience working within a React Native application. Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, error handling, structured logging, and debugging in Node.js. Good understanding of application security, data privacy, and secure coding practices. Experience with Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and collaborative code reviews. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take ownership of modules independently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills Experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch. Experience with NestJS or other structured Node.js frameworks. Familiarity with Redis, BullMQ, or similar queue and background-job systems. Experience with Docker and containerized deployments. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows. Experience building WebSocket or other real-time application features. Experience with GraphQL or tRPC. .
