Job Title: UI Automation Test Engineer Embedded Devices Experience: 35 Years Job Summary We are looking for a UI Automation Test Engineer with hands-on experience in embedded systems, HMI, touchscreen applications, and UI automation testing. The candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining automated test frameworks for graphical user interfaces running on embedded devices such as touchscreens, HMIs, and control panels. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated UI test scripts and frameworks for embedded HMI/touchscreen applications.Execute manual and automated test cases on actual embedded hardware.Develop test strategies covering UI navigation, touch/gesture input, screen transitions, rendering, and localization.Integrate UI automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous regression testing.Perform image-based and OCR-based UI testing.Identify, report, and track defects using JIRA.Perform compatibility testing across different display resolutions, hardware revisions, and firmware versions.Validate UI performance including response time, frame rate, memory, and CPU usage.Set up and maintain test rigs and benches, including JTAG/UART and other debugging interfaces.Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and UX/UI teams.Prepare test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test reports.Support root cause analysis for UI-related defects.Required Skills 35 years of experience in software testing and test automation.12 years of relevant experience in embedded/HMI UI testing.Hands-on experience with embedded UI automation tools such as Squish, Eggplant, Ranorex, Sikuli, Appium, or similar tools.Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, C, C++, or similar.Experience testing embedded GUI frameworks such as Qt/QML, Android, VxWorks GUI, Embedded Linux, or proprietary HMI frameworks.Knowledge of embedded communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN.Understanding of embedded hardware constraints including CPU, memory, display drivers, and their impact on UI performance.Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.Strong debugging skills using serial consoles, JTAG, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.Good documentation and communication skills.Preferred Skills Experience with FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Embedded Linux, or other RTOS environments.Knowledge of image recognition and OCR-based automation.Exposure to Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.Experience with accessibility and localization testing.Knowledge of standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 26262, or MISRA.Experience in automotive, medical devices, industrial automation, infotainment, or IoT domains.Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
