- Database Engineering Lead We are seeking a hands-on technical leadership role Database Engineering Lead to lead a team responsible for enterprise data acquisition, integration, transformation, and business analytics. This role is responsible for ensuring that the right customer data is identified, extracted, validated, and made available for application consumption while also enabling business users through insightful dashboards and reports. Key Responsibilities Customer Data Onboarding & Live Data Enablement Own the end-to-end execution of customer data onboarding, from understanding the target data model through historical data ingestion, validation, live data integration, and production stabilisation. - Own the end-to-end customer data onboarding process by understanding the target data model, validating source-to-target mappings, and coordinating with customers and internal stakeholders to gather the required data, system access, and integration prerequisites. - Analyse and validate customer data for completeness, quality, consistency, and compliance with the target data model, proactively identifying data gaps, anomalies, and mapping issues while driving their resolution. - Lead the execution of historical data onboarding, ensuring successful ingestion, validation, and readiness of customer data for production use. - Coordinate the transition from historical data to automated live data integration by collaborating with Platform Engineering, customer IT teams, and other stakeholders to enable and validate live data connectivity. Team Leadership & Delivery Management - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3-4 members. - Plan, prioritise, and allocate work across multiple customer implementations. - Ensure timely delivery of customer onboarding projects while maintaining quality and operational standards. - Review team deliverables, provide technical guidance, and actively contribute to complex implementation activities. - Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus. - Drive process standardisation, documentation, and implementation best practices. Data Engineering & Integration - Design and develop efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects. - Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to populate the application database. - Ensure data quality, consistency, completeness, and performance. - Perform data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting during implementations. - Optimise database performance and extraction processes. Business Intelligence & Analytics - Gather dashboard and reporting requirements from Product, and Implement Managers. - Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Metabase. - Create reusable datasets, metrics, KPIs, and visualisations. - Ensure dashboard performance and usability. - Work with stakeholders to translate business questions into meaningful analytical insights. Technical Skills - Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with relational databases and NoSQL document databases. - Experience in data integration, ETL/ELT processes, data onboarding, and working with structured and semi-structured data sources. - Positive understanding of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and modern data architecture concepts, including data ingestion, transformation, and data quality management. - Experience analysing customer datasets, validating source-to-target mappings, and resolving data quality and reconciliation issues. - Familiarity with APIs, SFTP, database connectivity, and enterprise integration patterns for historical and live data ingestion. - Experience developing dashboards and business reports using Metabase or similar Business Intelligence (BI) tools. - Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Git, and Agile delivery practices is preferred. .
