Role Overview Remote PartTime Cybersecurity Analyst (Data Entry Focus) careerzynith is seeking a motivated and detailoriented Remote PartTime Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Incident Response Group. This role blends data entry precision with handson experience in threat detection, mitigation, and recovery. You will work closely with senior security engineers, incident responders, and crossfunctional teams to analyze security events, document findings, and help develop rapid response procedures. As a juniorlevel analyst, you will gain invaluable exposure to realworld cyber threats, learn industrybest practices, and build a solid foundation for a thriving career in cybersecurityall while enjoying the flexibility of a remote, parttime schedule. Key Responsibilities Data Collection & Documentation:Accurately capture and log security incident data, including timestamps, affected assets, and initial observations, using careerzyniths ticketing and documentation platforms. Threat Analysis Support:Assist senior analysts in reviewing alerts, correlating events, and identifying potential indicators of compromise (IOCs). Incident Triage:Perform initial triage of security alerts, prioritize based on severity, and route tickets to the appropriate response team. Collaboration with Stakeholders:Communicate findings and status updates to business owners, IT teams, and management, ensuring clear and concise information flow. Process Improvement:Contribute ideas to streamline data entry workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance the overall efficiency of the incident response process. Compliance Alignment:Ensure that all documented incidents adhere to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCIDSS). Tool Familiarization:Gain handson experience with security tools such as Proofpoint PhishAlarm, ServiceNow GRC, and other threat intelligence platforms. Continuous Learning:Participate in internal training sessions, webinars, and mentorship programs to deepen your cybersecurity knowledge. Essential Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for accurate data entry and reporting.Fundamental understanding of information security concepts, risk mitigation strategies, and incident response lifecycles.Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical details into clear, businessfriendly language.Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of organization and accountability.Demonstrated attention to detail and a passion for accuracy in documentation.Preferred Qualifications & Experience Exposure to or interest in Proofpoint PhishAlarm for phishing detection and mitigation.Familiarity with ServiceNow Administration, particularly Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) modules.Coursework or handson experience in network security, ethical hacking, or related cybersecurity disciplines.Previous internship or entrylevel experience in a security operations center (SOC) or incident response team.Experience with business analysis, process mapping, or project management methodologies.Knowledge of agile methodologies and a willingness to adopt flexible, iterative work practices.Core Skills & Competencies Analytical Thinking:Ability to dissect complex security events and identify root causes.
