Youll work on large-scale backend systems while exploring and productionizing the latest advancements in Generative AI, Agentic AI, vector search, and multimodal retrieval. Your work will include: Designing and building scalable AI platform services and backend systems. Developing agentic workflows using modern LLM frameworks. Developing services around embedding models, reranking models, and multimodal search. Exposing AI models and algorithms as highly available internal services (ISVCs/APIs). Designing systems for model lifecycle management, inference, experimentation, and evaluation. Building orchestration frameworks for AI workflows and long-running jobs. Improving observability, reliability, scalability, and performance of AI infrastructure. Collaborating closely with Search, Product, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to ship production-ready AI features. Driving architecture discussions and owning services end-to-end. What we're looking for Must Have 5+ years of experience building large-scale backend or platform systems. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
