Description: Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Apollo humanoid robot by identifying and resolving design and manufacturing bottlenecks. Perform root cause analysis on system failures, performance issues, and production inefficiencies and implement corrective solutions. Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical improvements across disciplines. Optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Design, prototype, and test new components and subsystems to improve robot performance. Develop and implement best practices for mechanical assembly, testing, and quality control. Document design changes and improvements to support clear communication and knowledge transfer. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role with a focus on design for manufacturing and continuous improvement. Experience with complex electromechanical systems, particularly in robotics, aerospace, or a similar field. Expertise in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools, and FEA simulation. Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes including CNC machining, 3D printing, and injection molding. Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing, including the use of lab equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with humanoid robotics or legged locomotion is a significant plus.
