Threat Hunting & Threat Modeling Analyst (L2) Location: Bangalore Experience: 5+ Years Industry: Leading MNC Employment Type: Full-Time Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Threat Hunting & Threat Modeling Analyst (L2) to join our cybersecurity team. The role involves executing standard and custom threat hunts, leveraging threat intelligence, conducting application/project threat modeling assessments, and supporting red/purple team activities. The candidate will handle escalations from L1/SOC teams, perform deeper security analysis, prepare evidence-based technical reports, and collaborate with L3 SMEs on complex threat hunting and security risk assessments. Key Responsibilities Threat Hunting - Execute standard and custom threat hunts based on threat intelligence, operational triggers, and stakeholder requirements. - Analyze security events and identify potential threats, attack patterns, and anomalies. - Develop and refine hunt hypotheses based on adversary tactics and intelligence inputs. - Document findings with supporting evidence and clear conclusions. Threat Intelligence - Operationalize threat intelligence feeds to support threat hunting activities. - Identify relevant indicators, TTPs, and attack patterns for hunting. - Provide actionable intelligence and guidance to improve detection and investigation. Threat Modeling - Conduct application/project threat modeling assessments using ThreatModeler or equivalent automated tools. - Identify trust boundaries, attack paths, vulnerabilities, and security control gaps. - Document identified risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. - Track threat modeling findings through closure with relevant stakeholders. Red Teaming Support - Support red/purple team exercises with planning, coordination, scoping, and evidence collection. - Assist with reporting and translating red team observations into defensive improvements and threat-hunting hypotheses. - Ensure adherence to defined rules of engagement and evidence-handling practices. Reporting & Documentation - Prepare detailed threat hunting reports and executive-level summaries. - Develop and maintain repeatable threat-hunting playbooks and threat-model templates. - Ensure all findings and recommendations are clearly documented and actionable. Required Skills & Experience - 5+ years of experience in threat hunting, detection engineering, cybersecurity, or related roles. - Hands-on experience in executing standard and custom threat hunts. - Solid understanding of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). - Ability to translate threat intelligence into effective hunt hypotheses. - Hands-on exposure to ThreatModeler or equivalent automated threat modeling tools. - Experience preparing evidence-based technical reports and security assessments. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. .
