We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent want to join the ride The Service Engineer, Propulsion Systems , is responsible for executing field service activities on Wrtsil propulsion equipment globally. The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, commissioning, and retrofit activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Execute maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, commissioning, and retrofit activities on propulsion systems and related equipment. Perform service work on controllable pitch propellers (CPP), shaft lines, reduction gearboxes, stern tube seals, bearings, hydraulic systems, thrusters, and propulsion control systems. Support vessel dry dockings, sea trials, newbuild commissioning, and emergency breakdown attendance. Diagnose technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Ensure all assigned work is completed in accordance with Wrtsil procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements. Prepare timely and accurate service reports, technical findings, and recommendations. Support safety initiatives by complying with Wrtsil QEHS requirements, Life Saving Rules, and customer-specific safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and report safety observations, incidents, and improvement opportunities. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent technical discipline. Good understanding of marine propulsion systems, hydraulics, and mechanical drive systems. Experience Requirements 3-8 years of experience in marine propulsion systems, field service, vessel maintenance, shipbuilding, or repair operations. Hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul of propulsion equipment.Experience working onboard vessels, in shipyards, or marine service environments.Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation. Experience with Wrtsil propulsion products, including CPP systems, shaft lines, gearboxes, thrusters, waterjets, and propulsion control systems. Experience supporting dry dock projects, sea trials, and commissioning activities. Knowledge of hydraulic and electro-mechanical control systems. Mechanical and hydraulic systems expertise Root cause analysis Project execution Planning & Organizing Travel & Mobility Willingness to travel extensively worldwide (up to 80%). Ability to mobilize at short notice to support customer requirements. Ability to work onboard vessels, in ports, and shipyards globally. Safe execution of field service activities. High customer satisfaction and service quality. Successful completion of propulsion maintenance and overhaul projects. Timely and accurate service reporting.
