IBM i Solution Architect

Architect Area(s) of responsibility We are seeking an experienced IBM i Solution Architect to lead design, implementation, and management of enterprise IBM Power Systems environments. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end infrastructure architecture including IBM Power Servers, virtualization (PowerVM), OS upgrades, migrations, storage, backup, high availability (Mimix), and disaster recovery . The role requires strong hands-on expertise combined with architectural leadership to drive platform stability, scalability, and modernization initiatives Required Skills Core Technical Skills IBM i / AS400 Administration IBM Power Systems (Power8/9/10) PowerVM, VIOS, HMC SAN Storage & SAN Switches BRMS, Virtual Tape Library (VTL) Mimix (Precisely HA/DR) Robot Job Scheduler / IBM AJS OS upgrades, PTF management System migrations & DR implementation Good to Have Cloud exposure (IBM Cloud / Azure Skytap) CL programming / automation scripting Monitoring tools (Halcyon/Nagios) Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management Ability to lead technical teams and projects Documentation and audit readiness mindset Education & Certifications Bachelors degree in Engineering / IT / related field Preferred: IBM Certified System Administrator IBM i IBM Power Systems Certification ITIL Key Deliverables Stable and high-performing IBM i environments Successful migration and upgrade execution Reliable backup, restore, and DR readiness Secure and compliant infrastructure Continuous improvement in operations and cost optimization Experience Level Senior Level .
