Description - Platform Architect / Manager Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Platform Architect / Manager to lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery of the Ericsson EOCM Platform. The role requires a strong combination of technical leadership, platform architecture, automation, people management, and customer engagement. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, Linux, Platform Engineering, CI/CD, Infrastructure Automation, and Cloud Native technologies, along with experience managing engineering teams, driving delivery, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with Ericsson stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Technical Capabilities - Architect, design, and support a Linux-based Platform built on Kubernetes and Cloud Native technologies. - Define platform architecture and engineering standards to build scalable, secure, and highly available platform services. - Design, deploy, administer, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications. - Drive Platform Engineering initiatives to improve platform scalability, reliability, availability, and operational efficiency. - Design, develop, and maintain Helm-based deployment frameworks and release processes. - Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python and Ansible. - Design and implement Infrastructure Automation and Configuration Management solutions. - Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and Gerrit. - Troubleshoot complex issues related to: - Linux Platform - Kubernetes Clusters - Docker Containers - Platform Services - Networking - Application Deployment - Performance & Capacity - High Availability - Perform Linux administration, system tuning, log analysis, and production troubleshooting. - Lead platform debugging, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and performance optimization. - Review platform architecture, automation code, deployment strategies, and engineering best practices. - Drive platform modernization, cloud-native adoption, automation, scalability, and operational excellence. - Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to enhance platform stability, security, and performance. Management Capabilities: - Lead and manage a team of Platform Engineers and DevOps Engineers. - Own end-to-end platform engineering delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and customer commitments. - Plan resource allocation, sprint planning, work prioritization, and delivery tracking. - Conduct architecture reviews, technical reviews, and design discussions. - Mentor engineers on Linux, Kubernetes, Platform Engineering, Automation, CI/CD, and Cloud Native technologies. - Drive technical competency development through coaching, knowledge-sharing sessions, and structured learning plans. - Collaborate with Architects, Development, QA, Operations, Security, and Product teams to ensure successful platform delivery. - Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and stakeholder meetings. - Manage technical risks, production escalations, dependencies, and delivery challenges. - Review and approve deployment strategies, implementation plans, and production rollout activities. - Drive engineering best practices, automation adoption, coding standards, and operational excellence. - Track delivery KPIs, platform health, automation adoption, engineering productivity, and operational metrics. - Support hiring, technical interviews, onboarding, mentoring, and competency development of engineering teams. - Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and engineering standards. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform stability, delivery efficiency, and engineering productivity. Must-Have Skills - Strong Platform Engineering and Platform Architecture experience. - Solid Platform Debugging and Troubleshooting Skills. - Strong Kubernetes Administration and Kubernetes Debugging Skills. - Strong hands-on experience with Python. - Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (Playbooks, Roles, Inventory Management, Automation). - Linux Administration (Red Hat/CentOS). - Docker and Containerization. - CI/CD concepts and Jenkins Pipeline working knowledge. - AWS or Cloud Platform Exposure. - Git/Gerrit-based development workflows. - Infrastructure Automation and Configuration Management. - Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting. - Understanding of High Availability, Scalability, and Reliability concepts. - Good communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
