Do you enjoy running matters end to end, rather than just drafting the documents within them We are looking for an Offshore Lawyer / Legal Project Manager (LPM) to join our Sri Lanka-based offshore team, supporting our Australian legal team on mergers, acquisitions, and business, share, and asset transactions. You will combine legal drafting and advice with real ownership of how each matter runs, from the first instruction through to completion. About Aspect Legal Aspect Legal is a multi-award-winning boutique law firm specialising in SME business sales and acquisitions. We are values-driven, AI-first, and fully remote across Australia, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. Our values are Care, Excellence, Innovation, and Fulfilment, and we mean them. We do not just use better systems; we build them. We are proud supporters of B1G1, the 1% Pledge, and 100 Deals. If you want to understand the kind of firm we are, we are the type of place that asks how can we do this better and actually means it. About the Role Your focus will be 2 things at once: the legal work itself, and running the M&A matter it sits inside. You will review, advise on, and draft M&A documents in mergers, acquisitions, share and asset purchases and disposals, and you will project-manage those matters from instruction through to completion, including the client and stakeholder communication that keeps them moving. You will also contribute to the team's internal M&A templates and policies and provide support and mentorship to junior LPMs as your experience with the firm grows. Key Responsibilities Legal Drafting and Advice Review, draft, and advise on a wide range of M&A documents, including sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, confidentiality agreements (NDAs), due diligence reports, and other ancillary M&A documents Advise on and resolve legal issues that come up in these documents and the transactions they relate to Carry out legal research on matter-specific legal and regulatory questions, and help formulate advice across a range of M&A matters Support commercial matters outside M&A when needed, including leases and client policies Matter and Project Management Own M&A matters end-to-end, from instruction through to completion Track deadlines, next steps, and outstanding items so nothing slips Coordinate with brokers, counterparties, and the internal team to keep matters moving Keep clients and brokers informed throughout the transaction, and respond to them promptly Client Communication and Billing Act as a clear, professional point of contact for clients and referrers Manage day-to-day communication with stakeholders across each matter Keep clients updated on costs and billing, with bills issued monthly or more frequently Encourage clients and referrers to complete Google reviews and NPS surveys Training, Mentoring and Team Coordination Receive full training and supervision as you build depth in M&A and related practice areas Support and mentor junior LPMs as your experience with the firm grows Contribute to the development of the team's internal M&A templates and policies Meet daily with your EA to coordinate tasks and keep your workflow on track Take on other duties or projects as needed Required Experience 3+ years of experience in M&A, corporate law, or a related commercial legal field Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating M&A documents such as sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and NDAs Experience managing transactions from instruction through to completion, keeping all parties informed and on deadline A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent qualification. Admission to practice in your jurisdiction is preferred Coursework or training in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, or a related field is an advantage Comfortable with legal research tools, document management systems, and standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) Advanced legal drafting and analytical skills, and excellent spoken and written English Key Competencies Confident in managing daily communication with clients, brokers, and counterparties Strong project management instincts: you keep matters moving and flag risk before it becomes a problem A team player who builds rapport across a remote team and works well across functions Self-motivated and genuinely interested in contributing to clients, the firm, and the wider community A strong client service focus, with a genuine interest in client satisfaction and relationship building Looking for a long-term, stable role, not a stepping stone Comfortably mentoring junior LPMs as your experience grows here Why Join Aspect Leg .
