Remote Senior Decision Support Analyst Cost Accounting

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Essentia Health is a healthcare organization seeking a Senior Decision Support Analyst to manage healthcare cost accounting functions. The role involves developing and maintaining analytical methodologies, providing technical expertise, and leading financial analysis projects to support decision-making for organizational leaders.ResponsibilitiesPerforms cost accounting system development and maintenance, including design and implementation of process improvements and advanced methodologiesPerforms a broad range of financial analysis for assigned areasConducts complex financial analysis upon longitudinal patient conditions and services as assignedDevelops and maintains analytical methodologies, tools, and dataProvides technical expertise to other staff involved in data analysis; acting as a liaison between finance and operational/clinical leaders to ensure they have relevant tools and data and understand how to use themServes the organization as technical and subject matter expert for areas in which they workMentor and support team members on the monthly cost accounting process, assist in answering their questions as they grow their experienceLeads complex projects, often serving in the role of project managerProactively brings forward utilization, cost variation, or other financial opportunitiesActs as liaison to clinical and operational leaders and build connectivity and partnerships with other support partnersSkillsBachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, health informatics, computer science, management information systems, statistics, or technology/healthcare related field5 years of experience working in healthcare accounting, data development, and data analysisPrior experience in healthcare, financial or EMR systems, including business intelligence tools.
