This role involves collaborating with system management to address and resolve system needs, while also maintaining and monitoring applications related to the revenue cycle process.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate independently with system management and serve as a technical resource to identify, analyze, prioritize and resolve system needsUse cases, work flows and metrics to configure, maintain and monitor system, along with providing suggestions for potential application modifications, enhancements or process changes as appropriateServe revenue cycle (i.e. Registration, Revenue Integrity, Billing, Scheduling, coding and Charge Master)Demonstrate strong knowledge of IS internal department processes as well as software application supportDemonstrate comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, applications and interfacesDemonstrate proficiency in all skills required to facilitate complex applications and system enhancements or replacementsDemonstrate advanced proficiency in creating detailed documentation, including system design documentation, procedures, process and data flowsDemonstrate an advanced understanding of revenue cycle operationsDemonstrate attention to detail in data gathering, specifications development and documentation and recordingProduce and provide analysis through reports, dashboards and analytic tools to managementDevelop Metrics and KPI's designed to monitor the performance of management and staff in achieving SLA's adhering to process and the timely recording of pertinent dataFollow up on errors to determine root cause and recommend solutionDevelops reports and plans database additions taking reporting needs into considerationSupport multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules, educate and coach other team members and manage user expectationsDemonstrate initiative, creativity and flexibility in problem resolutionExercise good judgmentEffectively manage work time while handling more than one assignment at a timePrioritize work assignments to ensure the appropriate work is being completedDemonstrate integrity, credibility and personal accountabilitySet high work standardsSeek to share application and other specialized knowledge with peersDemonstrate excellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrate commitment to customer serviceSkillsA Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Information Management OR Equivalent combination of education and experience5 years experience in healthcare related setting with knowledge of Patient Access / Revenue Cycle / Business systemsUnderstanding of information system technology and database applications is necessaryComplete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed educationEPIC certification in the module(s) being representedExperience in EMR installations5 yrs experience with MS SQL, report automation knowledge, report writingCompany OverviewErlanger is a non-profit health system based in Chattanooga, Tenn. and affiliated with the University of Tennessee Health Science College of Medicine.
