About the Role The COMOS Administrator / IT Specialist supports engineering application development by configuring, extending, and maintaining Lummus implementation of COMOS as a design and data management tool. This role sits within the IT team and works closely with engineers, QA, and application developers to support consistent and efficient engineering workflows. This role requires a strong understanding of how COMOS is applied during FEED and early project phases and the ability to turn engineering needs into working COMOS solutions through configuration, scripting, and development. Responsibilities Report daily to the COMOS Product Lead on the status of assigned work tracked through Azure DevOpsExecute development assignments originating from Azure DevOps, including:development and maintenance of COMOS symbolsreport and query developmentconfiguration of simulation importsuser roles and permission managementproject setup and configurationModify COMOS base objects to support Lummus engineering workflowsDevelop and maintain automation scripts to support configuration, imports, reporting, and repetitive engineering tasksAct as the primary point of contact for COMOS engineering support, assisting engineers when they are unsure how to perform tasks or apply COMOS correctlyTroubleshoot user issues, provide guidance, and propose practical solutions consistent with Lummus standardsDocument development practices, configuration standards, engineering workflows, and common issues to ensure knowledge transfer and longterm maintainabilityCollaborate closely with QA and engineering users to validate solutions and ensure quality before release Qualifications Strong understanding of COMOS FEED configuration and how it is used as an engineering design toolSolid knowledge of COMOS data structures and how engineering data is modeled and maintainedExperience writing complex automation scripts (VBScript required, additional languages a plus)Experience working with Azure DevOps, including converting engineering requests into user storiesAbility to analyze engineering requests and determine practical technical solutionsClear written and verbal communication skills and ability to work directly with engineers, QA, and developersAttention to detail, particularly in configuration work (e.g., symbols, tagging, reports)Working knowledge of PFD, P&ID, and EC&I design conceptsAutoCAD experience is beneficialUnderstanding of APIs, Power Automate, Power BI, and HTML5 is a plus Required Skills Strong understanding of COMOS FEED configurationSolid knowledge of COMOS data structuresExperience writing complex automation scriptsExperience working with Azure DevOpsAbility to analyze engineering requestsClear written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detailWorking knowledge of PFD, P&ID, and EC&I design concepts Preferred Skills AutoCAD experienceUnderstanding of APIs, Power Automate, Power BI, and HTML5 .
