Library Information Superintendent

Library Information superintendent is responsible for supporting the efficient management and delivery of library resources, services, and day-to-day operations to ensure seamless access to information for students, faculty, researchers, and other library users. The incumbent assists in collection development, including the acquisition, accessioning, maintenance, stock verification, and weeding of print and electronic resources; classifies, catalogues, and processes knowledge resources using established standards while maintaining accurate bibliographic records; manages circulation services such as check-in, check-out, renewal, reservation, and recall of library materials; provides reference and information services by responding to user queries and facilitating access to print and digital resources; coordinates document delivery and Inter-Library Loan (ILL) services; supports the subscription, activation, access management, and troubleshooting of electronic resources, including e-journals, e-books, and databases; supervises library operations during assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; conducts user orientation and information literacy programmes; maintains library records, statistics, and reports; assists in library automation, digital library initiatives, and other technology-enabled services; and performs any other duties assigned by the Head or other competent authority from time to time. The position requires sound knowledge of library classification and cataloguing practices, Integrated Library Management Systems (ILMS), electronic resource management, strong communication, organizational, supervisory, user service, and information technology skills.
