Job Title: Lead / Principal Cloud Database Migration Engineer Experience Required: 10+ Years Work Location: Cloud & Infrastructure Practice Position Overview Senior technical leader responsible for architecting and physically executing enterprise-scale on-premises to cloud database migrations. This role requires deep expertise across relational and NoSQL database engines, infrastructure-as-code automation, and zero-downtime migration strategies within Azure environments. Key Responsibilities - Migration Execution & Engineering: Lead hands-on end-to-end database migrations from on-premise environments to Azure Cloud, implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) and cutover strategies to ensure low-to-zero downtime. - Architecture & HA/DR: Design capacity planning, scaling models, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and point-in-time recovery strategies for enterprise databases. - Schema Transformation & Validation: Perform dependency mapping, schema conversion, compatibility remediation, data validation, and post-migration reconciliation to ensure data integrity. - Performance & Cost Optimization: Diagnose critical performance degradation, resource bottlenecks, and query latency issues. Tune and optimize post-migrated workloads for scalability and cost management. - Cross-Functional Operations: Partner with Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, and Application development teams to embed database deployments into automated CI/CD pipelines.
