Lead Performance Tester and SDET | Playwright, K6 and Microservices Quality

This is a test engineering role with real breadth, and the tooling is named precisely rather than left vague. You would build UI automation in Playwright with TypeScript, behaviour driven tests with Cucumber, API automation across REST and GraphQL, and mobile automation with Appium. The performance half is K6 in TypeScript, wired into CI/CD, with results read through Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch and Datadog. There is also genuine distributed systems testing here: contract testing, schema validation, authentication testing and resilience scenarios across a microservices architecture, plus service level objective validation alongside the SRE and platform teams. Despite the Lead in the title, the posting describes no people management. Who it is for: What the posting asks for: 5 to 8 years in automation engineering or SDET roles. The actual day to day: designing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks, building UI automation in Playwright, implementing behaviour driven practice, generating structured reporting with Serenity, and developing API automation for REST and GraphQL. Contributing to mobile automation with Appium. Keeping frameworks modular and optimised for parallel execution, and integrating them into CI/CD across Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or CircleCI. Validating distributed systems across microservices with contract testing, schema validation, authentication and authorisation testing and failure scenarios. Contributing to service level agreement and objective validation. Developing and maintaining performance and load tests in K6 and analysing metrics through Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch and Datadog. Working with SRE and platform teams to find bottlenecks and reliability risks. Taking part in agile ceremonies and maintaining documentation in Confluence and Jira. Location and office reality: Bangalore, India. The posting lists hybrid work among its benefits but does not state how many days a week are in office. Honest fit guidance: the word Lead here appears to describe technical seniority, not a team to manage, since the posting contains no people management duties at all. Vonage also adds that there is no perfect candidate and you do not need every preferred qualification.
