Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead BESS to lead and manage electrical engineering activities for renewable energy projects, with strong expertise in Power Evacuation Systems, BESS, Solar and Wind projects. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership, managing engineering teams, supporting EPC execution, contributing to tender and bidding activities, and coordinating with clients and external engineering partners to ensure timely and technically compliant project deliverables. Key Responsibilities 1. Electrical Engineering & Power Evacuation Lead the electrical engineering activities for BESS, Solar and Wind projects.Provide strong technical expertise in power evacuation systems, including:Switchyard / SubstationGSS upgradationTransmission linesGrid interconnectionCommunication systemsAC/DC electrical systemsProtection and control systemsAuxiliary electrical systemsReview and validate electrical designs, drawings, calculations and technical specifications.Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable technical standards, grid codes and project requirements. 2. Engineering Team Leadership Lead and manage the engineering function and provide technical direction to the engineering team.Coordinate with outsourced/OE (Owners Engineer) teams for engineering inputs, reviews and technical deliverables.Guide engineers in resolving technical issues and ensure quality and timely completion of engineering deliverables.Establish engineering standards, processes and best practices across projects. 3. Tendering & Business Development Support Provide technical inputs for tenders, RFQs, bids and future project opportunities.Review tender specifications, scope of work, technical requirements and BOQs.Support estimation and costing teams with technical inputs related to electrical systems and power evacuation.Identify technical risks, exclusions, assumptions and project requirements during the bidding stage.Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders during the tendering process. 4. Client & Stakeholder Coordination Act as a technical point of contact for clients, consultants, utilities and other project stakeholders.Coordinate with clients for engineering deliverables, approvals, technical clarifications and design reviews.Lead technical discussions and resolve engineering issues during project execution.Coordinate with internal Project, EPC, Procurement, Quality and Construction teams. 5. EPC & Project Execution Should have strong experience in EPC project execution and preferably have worked in an EPC organization.Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and tendering through detailed engineering, execution and commissioning.Coordinate with site and project teams to resolve electrical and grid-related technical issues.Ensure engineering deliverables are aligned with project schedules, quality requirements and applicable regulations. 6. Grid Regulations & Utility Coordination Mandatory Strong working knowledge of applicable Indian Grid Regulations, Grid Codes and utility requirements, particularly: CTUILCEA Central Electricity AuthorityMSETCL Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company LimitedMSEDCL Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company LimitedKPTCL Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation LimitedTNEB / Tamil Nadu Electricity BoardKnowledge of additional state transmission/distribution utilities, grid regulations and applicable renewable energy/BESS standards will be an added advantage. Required Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in Electrical Engineering for Renewable Energy and BESS projects.Extensive knowledge of power evacuation and grid interconnection systems.Strong understanding of switchyards, substations, transmission lines and GSS systems.Experience in Solar, Wind and BESS projects.Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and communication systems.Experience in EPC project execution and engineering management.Ability to lead internal engineering teams and coordinate with outsourced engineering/OE teams.Strong tendering, technical proposal and bid support experience.Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Ability to manage multiple projects and engineering priorities simultaneously. Education & Experience Bachelors / Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.12+ years of relevant experience in Renewable Energy, including Solar, Wind and BESS.Candidates with strong experience in EPC, power evacuation, grid connectivity and renewable energy project engineering will be preferred.Experience in a leadership role managing engineering teams is essential. .
