Key Responsibilities: - HEMM Operations Management: - Manage the day-to-day operations of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (e.g., dumpers, shovels, excavators, front loaders, etc.) used in coal transportation and handling. - Oversee coal yard operations, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of coal from unloading points to stockyards and feeders. - Coordinate with the operations team to ensure a seamless supply of coal to the power plant. - Maintenance & Reliability: - Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all HEMM in the CHP. - Lead troubleshooting and repair activities for any HEMM breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain plant efficiency. - Ensure all HEMM are compliant with safety standards and manufacturers guidelines. - Process Optimization: - Identify opportunities to optimize coal handling operations by enhancing HEMM utilization and reducing fuel consumption. - Analyze operational data to improve overall performance, reduce costs, and increase equipment reliability. - Work closely with the technical team to implement new technologies and systems that can increase efficiency. - Team Leadership & Training: - Lead and mentor a team of operators, supervisors, and technicians, ensuring they are well-trained and adhere to safe working practices. - Promote a culture of safety and efficiency within the team and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Conduct training sessions and workshops to upskill team members and ensure they are up-to-date with industry best practices. - Budgeting & Cost Management: - Manage budgets related to HEMM operations, ensuring cost-effective procurement, operation, and maintenance. - Monitor and control costs associated with HEMM, such as fuel, parts, and labor. - Reporting & Documentation: - Maintain detailed records of all HEMM performance, maintenance activities, and repair histories. - Prepare regular reports on HEMM performance, operational efficiency, and any challenges encountered. - Provide inputs for long-term planning related to HEMM and coal handling operations. - Compliance & Safety: - Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, safety, and quality standards in the operation of HEMM. - Conduct regular safety audits and take corrective actions when necessary. - Ensure that all HEMM operators and maintenance personnel follow established safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirement - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 10 years of experience in a coal handling plant or power plant environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role involving HEMM operations. - Experience with Heavy Earth Moving Machines (e.g., Bobcat, Dozer, stackers, reclaimers, etc.) is essential. - Prior experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale operations. - Strong knowledge of CHP operations, and HEMM technology. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex issues related to machine breakdowns and operation optimization. - Solid leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of managing teams. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems. - Any specific HEMM certifications or licenses would be beneficial.
