SAP Digital Manufacturing Consultant / SAP ME Consultant (Chennai)

Job profile: SAP Digital Manufacturing Consultant / SAP Manufacturing Execution Consultant Candidate Profile SAP Digital Manufacturing / SAP MEMII - We are looking for an MES professional with a preference for SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud, while also considering candidates with SAP ME/MII backgrounds or other relevant international MES such as Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware. - The ideal candidate understands discrete manufacturing processes and has practical experience in complex MES implementations, particularly in structured or multi-plant manufacturing environments. - Solid technical capabilities, integration knowledge with SAP (better if S/4) and OT systems, and excellent collaboration with plant stakeholders are essential. 1. Required Technical Skills The candidate should have expertise in the following areas, with a strong preference for SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud: SAP Digital Manufacturing (preferred) - SAP DM Execution (Production Execution, POD configuration, traceability, quality, NC/defects, inspections). - SAP DM Insight (KPI, OEE, performance analytics, dashboards). - SAP REO (Resource Orchestration: resource planning, skills, task assignment). Alternatively: SAP ME / SAP MII - Configuration and development of SAP on-premise MES solutions. - Process modeling, legacy PODs, NC, data collection, reporting, integrations. Integrations - Integration with SAP S/4HANA (PP, QM, EWM, PM). - OT connectivity via OPC-UA, MQTT, REST APIs. - Basic knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, and APIs for extensions (e.g., POD plugins). - Experiences in building customisations on the Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). 2. Required Functional Skills - Strong knowledge of discrete manufacturing processes (assembly, machining, manual/automated lines). - Knowledge on SAP S/4HANA module (PP, QM, EWM, PM). - Solid understanding of: - production execution - traceability and genealogy - material consumption and backflushing - in-line quality inspections - NC(Non Conformity)/defect handling and rework flows - shopfloor KPIs (OEE, cycle time, productivity) 3. Preferred Professional Experience - Strong preference for candidates with experience in complex MES implementation projects within discrete manufacturing, including multi-plant programs or global rollouts. - Hands-on experience in: - requirement gathering - AS-IS / TO-BE process definition - system configuration - testing (SIT, UAT) - go-live support - training and onboarding of plant users 4. Required Soft Skills - Ability to collaborate effectively with production, process engineering, quality, maintenance, and IT teams. - Effective problem-solving attitude and results-oriented mindset. - Good communication skills in plant environments and cross-functional contexts. - Ability to work in international teams. - Flexibility and hands-on approach. 5. Preferred Education - Degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Mechatronics, or similar. - SAP certifications. .
