About the roleAs a Data Center Technician within Microsofts Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will be responsible for staging, setting up, and deploying hardware in one of Microsofts global data centers. The role offers exposure to the core infrastructure that powers services such as Azure, Office 365, Bing, Xbox and OneDrive, and provides opportunities to develop mentoring skills while following strict safety and operational procedures.Key responsibilitiesPerform diagnostics and troubleshooting on server and networking equipment following standard operating procedures.Stage, label, ground, and cable hardware according to safety protocols and Network Design Tasks.Execute hardware deployments, upgrades, and simple decommissions such as memory upgrades or rebuilds.Conduct postexecution quality checks to verify proper installation and minimal disruption.Report, escalate, and document incidents to the appropriate operations management and engineering teams.Provide guidance and assistance to fellow technicians on complex tasks.Complete all required rolespecific training and certifications.Required profileExperience working in a datacenter environment or with largescale hardware deployments.Ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify root causes quickly.Willingness to mentor peers and share knowledge.Commitment to continuous learning through required training.Required skillsHardware diagnosticsHardware deploymentCablingLabelingGrounding .
