Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer Smart Manufacturing to drive automation, digitalization, and process optimization initiatives across manufacturing operations. The role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems that enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, and workplace safety. The incumbent will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and external technology partners to deliver automation projects involving robotics, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, IoT-enabled solutions, and automated inspection and material handling systems, supporting the organization's Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 journey. Company Websites: www.assaabloy.com Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Automation Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes, including SPM machines, Press machines, Electroplating and Electrophoresis process, Pressure Die Casting (PDC) machines, assembly lines, lock testing machines, door handle assembly stations, polishing and buffing machines, packaging machines, and material handling systems. Lead end-to-end automation projects involving PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA systems, servo motion applications, machine control systems, interlocking systems, and production line integration. Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operations through robotic pick-and-place systems, automated feeding systems, industrial robotics, vision inspection systems, poka-yoke solutions, and automated material transfer systems. Identify and implement low-cost automation solutions to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational reliability. Mechanical Automation & Machine Design Design automation fixtures, machine mechanisms, and customized manufacturing solutions to enhance process efficiency. Develop pneumatic and hydraulic automation systems, including circuit design, actuation systems, and motion control mechanisms. Design rotary indexing systems, automated conveyors, part feeding and orientation mechanisms, and machine retrofit solutions. Develop robotic End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), grippers, and automation accessories for manufacturing applications. Analyze manufacturing processes to identify cycle time reduction opportunities and process optimization initiatives. Electrical Automation & Controls Develop, program, commission, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems using Delta, XINJE, and other industrial PLC platforms. Design and develop HMI applications, operator interfaces, machine dashboards, alarm systems, and production monitoring solutions. Configure and optimize VFDs, servo drives, stepper drives, and motion control systems for high-performance machine operations. Design, integrate, and validate industrial control systems including sensors, vision systems, safety controls, emergency stop circuits, and machine interlocks. Robotics & Vision Systems Implement and optimize industrial robotics applications for machine loading/unloading, assembly, pick-and-place, and material handling operations.
