Lead SRE Coach

Position Title: Lead SRE Coach Location: Chennai, India Education Level: IT Engineering Graduate Experience: 9+ years Job Description Direct Responsibilities Coaching & Mindset Enablement: Transmit an Agile and SRE-focused mindset. Conduct daily on-the-field coaching and 1-to-1 sessions with SREs to identify operational improvement areas, guide solution implementations, upskill teams, and track SRE practice maturity. Training & Upskilling: Design, curate, and lead interactive SRE training courses for SRE practitioners and their managers. Recruitment & Assessment: Participate in the global SRE talent acquisition process by administering recruitment assessments, evaluating technical capability, and providing detailed candidate feedback to hiring managers. Strategy & Content Co-construction: Collaborate with the transformation team in workshops and brainstorming sessions to co-build the SRE transformation roadmap, support plans, and ongoing training collateral. Potential Career Path: Opportunity to evolve into an SRE Lead within a specific Securities Services IT Production domain or step into an SRE Chapter Lead role across Securities Services IT Production. Contributing Responsibilities Partner with other QUEST stream leaders and APS teams to elevate overall platform stability, efficiency, and reliability. Qualifications & Competencies Experience & Background Total Experience: 10+ years of overall experience in IT. SRE Expertise: 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience as an SRE, with a proven track record of driving SRE transformations within operational environments. Operational Background: Prior experience in IT Production with an Application Integration focus, or a Software Developer background with deep expertise in production deployment standards. Coaching Posture: A strong coaching mindset-believing in the capability of individuals to formulate their own solutions and guiding them through that discovery process. Technical Skills & Tools Core Practices: SRE principles, DevOps, ITIL framework, Application Support, End-to-End IT processes (Dev to Ops). Scripting: Python, YAML, Shell. Monitoring & Observability: Dynatrace, Nagios. Operating Systems & Networking: Linux, Network Administration (DNS, Firewalls, Switches). DevOps Tooling: Git & Git Flow, Artifactory, Jenkins or GitLab CI, Ansible Tower, Digital.ai Release. Cloud & Containerization: Kubernetes, Docker, Argo CD, Vault, Helm. IT Production Processes: Incident Management, Release Management, Change Management, Capacity Management, Problem Management. Architecture: Enterprise & Technical Architecture fundamentals. Behavioral & Leadership Skills Coaching & Mentorship: Strong ability to listen actively, transmit knowledge effectively (via workshops, documentation/wikis), and drive sustainable organizational change. Stakeholder Influence: Proven ability to communicate, collaborate with, and influence diverse stakeholders (operational engineers, managers, IT specialists, support teams). Work Style: High autonomy, collaborative teamwork, problem-solving mindset, and comfortable working within a multi-cultural, global team structure.
