Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is seeking a Reliability Engineer (Application SRE / DevOps Engineer) to support critical production applications and cloud platforms. This role is focused on ensuring application reliability, operational excellence, and system availability across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in AWS Cloud, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Production Support, CI/CD pipelines, and application troubleshooting, with the ability to efficiently diagnose issues across application and database layers. This is a production support and operational reliability role, not a software development position. The successful candidate will serve as a key contributor in maintaining highly available systems, driving automation, enhancing observability, and improving the overall stability of applications running in cloud environments. Key Responsibilities Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for critical business applications and services.Monitor application health, system performance, and service availability across AWS environments.Lead incident management activities, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration.Ensure reliability, scalability, and operational stability of production applications.Support and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines and release processes.Troubleshoot Java-based applications by analyzing logs, exceptions, thread dumps, and performance metrics.Investigate database-related issues using SQL/ Oracle queries and performance analysis techniques.Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and platform teams to resolve application and environment issues.Implement automation solutions to reduce manual operational tasks and improve efficiency.Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, operational runbooks, and support documentation.Participate in on-call support rotations and major incident response activities.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, resiliency, and operational excellence. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, Application Support, or Production Support roles.Hands-on experience supporting applications within AWS cloud environments.Strong understanding of SRE principles including availability, scalability, monitoring, and incident management.Experience supporting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Working knowledge of Java application architecture and troubleshooting.Strong SQL and database support experience, including query analysis and performance troubleshooting.Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Location: Chennai.
