Job Description OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE: The Data Security & Access Engineer is responsible for providing critical support to the Data Security, Access, and Privacy ecosystem. They will be responsible for driving innovation and operability in an organizations Data Security Platform. The data security engineer will be responsible for analyzing the security, operations, and effectiveness of our Enterprise Data Security & Access platforms and services, discovering and addressing security and availability issues, building automation, and quickly reacting to new business scenarios. This role will have the opportunity to learn from, and be mentored by, those who are building and securing our Enterprise data security, access, and privacy platform. EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Essential QualificationsBS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience Minimum 5 year of experience in a deep technical role using the following essential qualifications. Programming Skills: Proficiency in languages such as Python for integrations, automations, building and maintaining data pipelines, etc Database Management: Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for managing and querying data. Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with distributed systems like Databricks as well as cloud platforms especially AWS Data Modeling and Architecture: Ability to design data schemas and understand data warehousing, ETL processes, real-time streaming, etc Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to perform root cause analysis, etc Machine Learning and GenAI/Agentic AI: Understanding the principles in these areas Data Security: Knowledge of data security practice, including encryption, anonymization, Data Security Posture Management to protect sensitive information Data Governance and Compliance: Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR and HIPAA, and how to implement policies to ensure compliance. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
