As a trusted advisor, youll compile, analyze, summarize and monitor financial data and reports that are integral to understanding the financial position of our firm. Responsibilities: Accounting Function Analyze income statement and expense accounts for significant budget or month over month variances Review balance sheet accounts for material variances Perform complex account reconciliations, including inter company accounts Support month end close activities, including fixed asset capitalization/disposals, suspense clearing, and maintaining accruals and prepayments Prepare and post journal entries Assist with Stats Canada reporting and variance commentary for EVPs Support preparation of income tax return schedules (partnership and corporate) Potentially assist with indirect tax filings, based on experience Prepare documentation for auditors Treasury Function Accurately record and post daily cash receipts in the internal system Record daily bank transactions and maintain up to date bank balances Save required emails and supporting documents in PDF format as part of daily workflows Complete monthly reconciliations for all banks accounts RequirementsQualification: Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP) Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively Experience with Agresso/Unit4 is an asset Preferred Qualifications: 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and reconciliations Treasury experience in accounts receivable and banking is an asset Experience of working for US/Canadian firms with exposure to US/Canadian accounting processes Exposure to Canadian Accounting Standards (ASPE, IFRS among others) or US GAAP preferred Educational Qualifications Bachelor/Masters in Commerce, Article ship experience would be an added advantage Certification Completion of, or working towards, prerequisites for pursuing a CA/CPA designation, or Masters or Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred but not necessary .
