Role Overview : As a Data Engineer specializing in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) systems, you will be responsible for architecting and maintaining robust data pipelines that drive critical financial crime detection and regulatory reporting. You will collaborate closely with quantitative analysts, compliance officers, and global stakeholders to transform raw transactional data into actionable intelligence. Your work directly impacts the firms ability to identify suspicious activities, ensuring the integrity of financial systems and maintaining rigorous adherence to global regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities : Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process high-volume transactional data for AML monitoring and reporting systems.Optimize data models and database schemas to improve the performance of complex surveillance queries and real-time monitoring tools.Collaborate with compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical data specifications and automated detection logic.Develop and maintain data quality frameworks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data across the enterprise.Automate data ingestion and transformation processes to reduce manual intervention and improve the latency of financial crime alerts.Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate data solutions into existing financial platforms while maintaining strict security and audit protocols. Required Skillset : Demonstrated expertise in building distributed data systems using Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or cloud-native data platforms.Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for complex data manipulation, performance tuning, and automation of data workflows.Proven ability to design data architectures that support AML/KYC compliance, including experience with transaction monitoring systems and regulatory reporting.Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and compliance partners.Experience working in an agile, collaborative environment, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced financial services setting.A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model at our Bangalore office, fostering strong team cohesion and professional growth.7 - 12 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a specific focus on financial services or regulatory technology. .
