IFRS Domain Expert - Pension Accounting

We are looking for an experienced IFRS / Technical Accounting professional to join our team and manage complex accounting activities with a strong focus on Pension Accounting, IFRS/US GAAP, Accounting Policies, and Consolidated Reporting. The role will work closely with internal finance teams, pension specialists, actuaries, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant, and high-quality financial reporting and accounting practices. Key Responsibilities -Manage and analyze monthly pension accounting activities in collaboration with the Pension Controller.Coordinate with external actuaries on pension reporting and actuarial data requirements.Support preparation of annual pension disclosure notes.Develop, maintain, and update the AkzoNobel Accounting Manual and accounting policies.Assess and implement new IFRS standards and relevant accounting treatments.Manage and maintain the Standard Chart of Accounts (SCoA).Review finance income and expenses at a consolidated level.Support accounting and reporting activities related to pension and technical accounting.Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Pension, and other corporate stakeholders.Ensure high standards of accuracy, compliance, risk management, and financial reporting.What We\'re Looking For -810 years of experience in Accounting / Technical Accounting / Financial Reporting.Strong expertise in IFRS and/or US GAAP.Mandatory experience in Pension Accounting, with knowledge of IAS 19 and/or ASC 712/715.Strong background in accounting and financial reporting.Experience in accounting policies, technical accounting, or accounting manual maintenance is preferred.Knowledge of consolidation and group reporting is an advantage.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently, manage complex accounting matters, and meet strict deadlines.Strong attention to detail and a risk-oriented mindset.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across Finance and other corporate functions.University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. .
