Position: General Manager GM / Sr. GM - Plant Finance Controller / Head - F&A Experience: Minimum 14-23 years Location: Chennai About the Role We are looking for a highly experienced Head - F&A / Plant Finance Controller to join our client's team as a General Manager GM / Sr. GM. This leadership role will be pivotal in overseeing the financial management and control functions for Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) (Chennai & Andhra Pradesh) manufacturing plants, as well as other infrastructure development projects. The ideal candidate will have 14-23 years of experience in finance and accounting, particularly in the Infrastructure, Manufacturing, EPC or construction sector, and will possess a proven ability to drive cost control, financial planning, and strategic analysis for large-scale manufacturing and infrastructure operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the preparation, management, and review of the plant's annual budget and financial forecasts in alignment with overall business objectives.Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support key decisions for PEB manufacturing and infrastructure projects.Perform detailed financial analysis to monitor project-specific and plant-wide financial performance, ensuring cost efficiencies and margin optimization.Cost Control & Reporting:Oversee the implementation of robust cost control systems for plant and project operations, ensuring accurate cost allocation and tracking.Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within the plant. Monitor production costs, material usage, and overheads to ensure financial control. Utilize SAP to track costs, monitor financial performance, and report results. 3. Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax laws, corporate policies, and accounting standards. Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage the annual audit process and collaborate with external auditors. Ensure strict adherence to cost and revenue recognition principles in accordance with the project milestones in the PEB and infrastructure development sector. Inventory & Capital Expenditure Management:Manage the inventory control process for raw materials, components, and finished products, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing wastage and obsolescence.Oversee capital expenditures for the plant and infrastructure projects, ensuring proper approval, documentation, and tracking of capital investments.Team Leadership:Lead and mentor the finance team at the plant, ensuring the effective management of their professional development and performance.Foster a culture of financial accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring the team adheres to the highest standards of financial reporting and analysis. 6. Strategic Contribution Work closely with the plant and project management teams to provide strategic financial insights, contribute to cost control initiatives, and evaluate the financial viability of new projects.Support senior leadership with financial planning and analysis related to new infrastructure and PEB projects, including financial modeling and cash flow analysis.Actively participate in decision-making on major plant investments, cost reduction programs, and capital projects to optimize long-term profitability. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements: Education: CA or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 14-20 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role in Manufacturing, PEB, infrastructure development, or construction industries. Important Note: That person will be based at Chennai and will also look after, besides Chennai 2 Plants, another Big Plant at Attivaram (AP), which is around 140 KM from Chennai. Key Skills Experience working for a listed company preferred Strong expertise in project finance, cost accounting, budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial reporting, particularly in the infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials, and associated costs.Excellent understanding of project-based financial management, including contract costing, billing, and milestone-based revenue recognition.Expertise in SAP ERP systems and financial software tools.Proven ability to manage and lead teams, with a focus on financial analysis, rep .
