SAP EWM Functional Consultant - PM | GDC (Chennai)

Position Overview Mandatory skills SAP EWM configuration and support , Ability to prepare Functional Specification Documents (FSD), Understanding of SAP S/4HANA EWM processes We are seeking an experienced SAP EWM Functional Consultant with strong expertise in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) processes and configurations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in implementing, supporting, and enhancing SAP EWM solutions for warehouse and logistics operations. The successful consultant will work collaboratively with business users, stakeholders, and technical teams to analyze requirements, provide functional solutions, and ensure smooth system operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities - Gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to warehouse and logistics processes - Configure and support SAP EWM functionalities based on identified business needs - Design and implement solutions for inbound, outbound, internal warehouse, and inventory management processes - Support integration between SAP EWM and other SAP modules including MM, SD, PP, and TM - Prepare detailed functional specification documents (FSD) for developments and enhancements - Coordinate with technical teams on custom developments, interfaces, and enhancements - Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure quality and compliance - Provide production support and resolve functional issues within agreed SLA timelines - Participate in SAP implementation, rollout, migration, and upgrade projects from planning through deployment - Create comprehensive user documentation and conduct end-user training sessions - Provide expert guidance on SAP EWM best practices and process optimization - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system performance and user adoption Required Qualifications & Skills SAP EWM Functional Expertise - Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP EWM configuration and support - Strong expertise in the following EWM processes: - Inbound Processing - Outbound Processing - Putaway Strategies - Picking & Packing Operations - RF Framework (Mobile Data Entry) - Physical Inventory Management - Slotting & Rearrangement - Wave Management - Experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM processes and configurations Integration Knowledge - Proven experience integrating SAP EWM with: - SAP Materials Management (MM) - SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) - SAP Production Planning (PP) - SAP Transportation Management (TM) - Familiarity with SAP Quality Management (QM) preferred - Understanding of IDocs, interfaces, and integration concepts Technical & Functional Skills - Ability to prepare comprehensive Functional Specification Documents (FSD) - Knowledge of SAP enhancement concepts and customization approaches - Understanding of SAP system architecture and data flow - Debugging knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities advantageous - Familiarity with testing methodologies and quality assurance processes Soft Skills - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders - Project management capabilities with attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - Customer-focused mindset with robust service orientation Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Yard Management processes - SAP EWM implementation project experience - Knowledge of advanced warehouse optimization techniques - Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or reporting tools - Certification in SAP EWM or related modules - Experience in manufacturing, retail, or 3PL environments Education & Certifications - Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field - SAP certification in EWM or related modules preferred Experience Level Minimum 5-7 years of skilled experience in SAP EWM functional consulting or warehouse management system implementation and support.
