Make IT Real Tech, part of The Customization Group DevOps & Network Engineer Own the automation, reliability and performance of our AWS cloud, run our production Kubernetes on EKS, and be the second pair of hands that keeps our global network secure and running. A genuinely dual role, weighted to DevOps. Remote, India based. Are you the person who would rather script the repeat task away than do it twice, reaches for infrastructure as code before the console, and is happy to jump from an EKS upgrade in the morning to troubleshooting a VPN tunnel in the afternoon We are looking for a DevOps & Network Engineer to own our cloud automation and reliability, and to back up our network so the business never depends on a single person. AT A GLANCE Location: Remote, India based Reports to: Head of IT (Raimonds Talcis) Team: Small, hands-on infrastructure team, everyone in the details Scope: DevOps and cloud (around 60-70%), networking backup and support (around 20-30%) Experience: Roughly 2 to 6 years, mid-level, individual contributor About us Make IT Real Tech is an information technology firm, part of The Customization Group, providing consulting services in IT, software, and advanced areas such as Artificial Intelligence. The Customization Group is a global leader in mass customization and print-on-demand e-commerce, manufacturing up to 2.5 million unique, personalized products daily across sites in Germany, Poland and the USA, reaching millions of customers through 20+ online shops and 1,000+ partner stores. Our 750+ team members come from 40+ nationalities and work at the intersection of manufacturing, e-commerce and AI. Our infrastructure is the quiet backbone behind all of that. When it runs well, no one notices. This role keeps it running well and makes it better. The Role This is a genuinely dual role. You will spend most of your time on DevOps and cloud, owning automation, reliability and performance across our AWS environment and our production Kubernetes on EKS. You will also be one of the people we rely on to keep networking secure and running across multiple locations, so the business is never dependent on a single person. It is a hands-on, individual-contributor role in a small team where everyone, from junior to lead, is in the details. In a nutshell: Automate it, keep it reliable, and when you are put on something, own the whole of it. Most of the work is DevOps and cloud, with networking as your second lane. What You Will Do Run our production Kubernetes on EKS: Operate and maintain our workloads across multiple clusters and environments, node groups, ingress and load balancing, service accounts and IAM integration, autoscaling, upgrades, and resource right-sizing. Own infrastructure as code end to end: Define and version all cloud resources in Pulumi so environments are reproducible and every change goes through review rather than the console. Build automation that removes repeat manual work: Scripted operational tasks, self-service tooling for developers, and guardrails that let teams ship without needing infrastructure access. Manage and optimise our AWS cloud day to day: EC2, RDS and related services, with a constant focus on cost, performance and reliability. Keep the pipelines healthy: Design and maintain CI/CD, monitoring and observability, and lead incident resolution when something breaks. Back up the network: Configure, maintain and troubleshoot firewalls, VPN tunnels, routing and secure connectivity across locations, working alongside our network engineers so coverage never rests on one person. Take real ownership: When you are put on something, you own the whole of it, digging in to find answers and driving it forward rather than waiting to be told what to do next. Who We're Looking For Sounds like you Around 2 to 6 years in a DevOps, Infrastructure or Cloud Engineering role. Strong hands-on AWS, especially compute and database services such as EC2 and RDS. Real experience operating Kubernetes in production, ideally on EKS. Infrastructure as code and scripting. We use Pulumi; experience with Pulumi, Terraform or similar and a willingness to work in Pulumi is what matters. Strong Linux system administration and comfort with CI/CD and containers. Solid, hands-on networking knowledge, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, VPNs and firewalls, with the confidence to troubleshoot independently. A strong sense of ownership and the energy to jump between DevOps and networking rather than staying in one narrow lane. A plus: experience with MikroTik RouterOS, or a willingness to learn it quickly, and relevant AWS, Kubernetes or Linux certifications. Probably Not A Fit If You prefer to stay in one narrow specialism. This role moves between cloud, Kubernetes and networking, often in the same week. You want a large team and a steady stream of assigned tickets. This is a h .

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
