Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for Systems Engineer (SPI) to join our Engineering Systems team in Chennai. Looking for an experienced Control & Instrument Engineer / Designer with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) set-up, administration and audit of SPI data relating to the use of SPI on FEED and EPC projects. Responsibilities include: SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) typical administration tasks including Site-Plant creation, application database fitness and maintenance, Plant Break Down Structure (PBS), User management, backups, Projects scope and merge, and audit of SPI databases used by other contractors Deliverables customisation: reports, datasheets, drawing templates, wiring schedules, loop diagrams, hook-ups and other diagram types Develop SPI related Specification Documentation, templates, implementation plans for the projects Good knowledge of SPI database schemas and tables, ability to write own SQL queries, training of others within the group and support of our High Value Engineering Centres to produce C&I project documents:- Instrument Lists Wiring details and schedules Loop diagrams including Smart Loops Instrument data sheets Cable specification and schedules Hookups Qualifications Degree in Engineering (4 years) preferably in Electrical / Instrumentation5-10 years of total experience in the setup and administration of Hexagon tools (SPI) preferably in Oil & Gas industryShould possess knowledge in SPI and have exposure to managing global projectsExperienced with the working systems and environment of Hexagon systems used in the execution of projects preferably in Oil & Gas industryKnowledge in Information Management and Integrated Engineering Systems processes and principlesGood data base, spread sheet and VBA skills requiredIdeally a track record in the following project phases: FEED, Detailed Engineering (EPC), Construction Excellent knowledge and proficiency using Smart Plant Instrumentation (at least at Superuser level but preferably including administration experience)Strong computer skills and comfortable with database systemsStrong verbal and written communication skills, Business English Language Skill, Team player and ability to work closely with global colleagues to deliver robust SPI solutions Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the worlds most critical challenges.
