Key Responsibilities of Purchase Order Manager 1. Purchase Order Creation & Management Prepare and issue accurate purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and ingredients based on production schedules.Track all POs to ensure timely supplier confirmations and delivery updates.2. Vendor Management Maintain relationships with certified and approved suppliers.Evaluate vendor performance on criteria such as price, delivery time, quality, and food safety compliance.Ensure all vendors are compliant with FSSAI and other regulatory standards.3. Inventory Coordination Work closely with inventory and production teams to forecast material requirements.Avoid raw material shortages or overstocking, especially for perishable goods.4. Cost Optimization Compare quotations and negotiate contracts with suppliers to get the best rates without compromising quality.Identify alternate suppliers for high-cost or critical items.5. ERP and Procurement System Use Use procurement modules in ERP systems (like ERP Tally Prime 9 and Advance Excel or customized software) to manage procurement and generate reports.Monitor open POs, delivery schedules, and generate alerts for delays.6.
