SAP Archiving Architect (SAP ILM & Archiving SME)

Experience 8+ Years in SAP Data Archiving & SAP ILM Implementations Job Summary Responsible for leading end-to-end enterprise application data archiving initiatives across multiple business applications. Work closely with clients, business stakeholders, legal teams, compliance teams, and IT organizations to define, design, and document archiving requirements and retention strategies. Act as the primary functional and technical authority for data archiving lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, data retention policies, security standards, and user access controls. Lead client workshops to capture business, legal, and technical requirements and translate them into archiving strategies and implementation plans. Key Responsibilities Stakeholder & Requirements Management Lead and facilitate client workshops to gather and document application archiving requirements. Work with business, legal, compliance, and IT stakeholders to define retention and deletion policies. Serve as the primary point of contact for archiving-related discussions, decisions, and clarifications throughout the project lifecycle. Assess application landscapes and recommend appropriate archiving approaches. Data Archiving Lifecycle Management Define and document the complete data archiving lifecycle, including: Data identification and eligibility Retention and deletion policies Archiving execution and validation Retrieval and reporting mechanisms Ensure alignment with regulatory, compliance, audit, and governance requirements. Design data retention and access models across enterprise applications. Conduct application archiving assessments and provide recommendations. Documentation & Governance Prepare clear and comprehensive design documents suitable for client review and implementation teams. Maintain archiving standards, policies, and governance documentation. Ensure audit readiness and long-term data retrievability. SAP Archiving Responsibilities SAP Classical Archiving & SAP ILM Strong expertise in SAP Classical Data Archiving solutions. Strong expertise in SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) for SAP ECC environments. Identify and map: Archiving Objects ILM Policies Retention Rules Residence Periods Data Retention Requirements Archiving Operations Schedule and monitor archiving jobs. Analyze archiving logs and job statistics. Prepare archiving reports and metrics. Perform archive validation and data retrieval testing. Attachments & Content Archiving Implement attachments and document archiving solutions. Manage ArchiveLink configurations. Integrate with external archive repositories and content servers. Archive Infrastructure Strong understanding of: SAP ArchiveLink Content Servers OpenText Archiving Solutions Archive Repositories Retrieval and Search Mechanisms Data Access Controls .
