Job Description Senior User Experience Designer (Level 3/4) Experience: 712 years Role Overview User Experience (UX) roles design and validate user-centered experiences for complex enterprise software. Across levels, the work spans discovery (research and synthesis), design (information architecture, interaction design, prototyping), documentation (wireframes/specifications), and validation (usability testing and iteration). AI is used to accelerate evidence capture, synthesis, ideation, and deliverywhile maintaining responsible, transparent, and user-trustworthy outcomes. Core Work Domains Discovery & Research (plan, conduct, synthesize) Design & Prototyping (flows, IA, interactions, prototypes) Documentation & Handoff (specs, annotations, acceptance criteria support) Validation (usability testing, iteration, quality verification) Standards (accessibility, consistency, design system usage) AI Acceleration (synthesis, ideation, workflow automation with guardrails) Level Scope & Accountability Scope: Cross-product journeys, shared patterns, and systemic UX improvements. Design Responsibility: Sets direction for standards and patterns; influences leadership decisions across teams. Typical experience guidance: 710+ years with cross-product/system influence. Key Responsibilities Contribute to and help shape cross-product experience direction through patterns, standards, and system-level thinking Contribute to design system decisions (pattern direction, component requirements, token semantics). Vet and enable AI workflow/process improvements (research synthesis, documentation automation, design QA). Establish UX governance mechanisms with DesignOps/Engineering (review standards, adoption guidance). Coach senior designers and leads; elevate critique culture and decision-making quality. AI & Innovation Expectations Use Use AI fluently and deliberately across the full design workflow; applies strategic judgment to identify where AI adds genuine value versus where human craft is non-negotiable. Champion AI-assisted prototyping as a team capability identify tools and approaches that meaningfully close the gap between design intent and realistic interaction, and define the quality bar for their use. Enable Evaluate and recommend AI tools and workflow improvements for the design team. Enable AI-assisted workflows at organizational scale research synthesis, documentation automation, design QA with clear adoption guidance and quality criteria. Govern Establish guardrails and human review checkpoints that ensure AI acceleration does not compromise design quality, accessibility, or user trust. Define what requires human review and communicate that standard clearly. Responsible use Coach senior designers on responsible, effective AI use. Build shared team understanding of where AI accelerates well and where it introduces risk bias, inconsistency, or loss of design intent. Required Qualifications Demonstrated influence at a cross-product or platform level shaping shared patterns, standards, or experience strategy. Sets and communicates a research agenda; synthesizes insights into systemic recommendations, not just feature solutions. Experience coaching senior designers and elevating critique culture; improves how a team reasons through decisions, not just what they decide. History of establishing or improving UX governance, standards, or review processes across teams. Communicates design strategy and trade-offs persuasively across disciplines, including to senior leadership; elevates how others reason through design decisions. Preferred Qualifications Deep enterprise software design experience across multiple product lines or domains. Significant design system experience at a governance or direction-setting level. Expertise in accessibility with experience embedding standards across teams not just applying them personally. Experience evaluating or enabling AI-assisted design workflows and governing their quality. Familiarity with Design Ops practices (tooling, process, adoption measurement). Success Measures Improves consistency and reduces duplicated UX work across products. Accelerates delivery by enabling scalable patterns and AI-supported workflows. Creates durable governance that improves quality and reduces risk (accessibility, trust).
