Were hiring a Data Engineer (Developer), ERP and Business Finance Solutions for IT Finance Domain. We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our ERP & Business Finance Solutions team, part of the IT Finance Process Domain. Our mission is to design, deliver and manage the lifecycle of IT solutions that support business capability needs - ensuring alignment with IT architecture principles and enabling value creation through close collaboration with the business. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in the hands-on design, development, configuration, and implementation of planning and analytics related IT solutions. The role is development-oriented and focuses on technical solution design, configuration, implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, vendors and other IT teams to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality, secure and sustainable solutions. You will work closely with Valmet business areas, external stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams, contributing primarily to the technical development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of planning and analytics related solutions within your scope. You will also contribute to technical quality, implementation readiness, and continuous enhancement in cooperation with relevant stakeholders. We are looking for a person for a permanent position. What you will be accountable for - Design, build, configure, and maintain planning and analytics related IT solutions in alignment with business needs and IT architecture principles. - Translate business requirements, process needs, and existing logic into scalable, high-quality technical solutions and enhancements. - Perform hands-on development work, including solution configuration, implementation, testing, defect fixing, and technical documentation. - Support end-to-end solution delivery from technical design and build to testing, deployment, and continuous enhancement. - Develop and maintain integrations, data flows, imports/exports, and automation-related components within the Planning & Analytics solution landscape. - Optimize solution performance, usability, maintainability, and technical quality. - Work closely with business stakeholders, process owners, key users, vendors, and IT teams to refine requirements and implement effective technical solutions. - Support incident, problem, and change management activities from a technical perspective, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, defect fixing, and corrective actions. - Maintain relevant technical documentation, knowledge content, and configuration-related information to support efficient and controlled operations. - Support governance, security, compliance, and risk mitigation activities within the application scope. - Proactively identify opportunities for technical improvements, automation, solution optimization, and application rationalization. What kind of background we expect from you - Bachelors or Masters degree in information technology, finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Relevant experience of 5+ years in hands-on application development, scripting, solution configuration, implementation, or a similar technical role in business-critical IT environments. - Experience with planning and analytics, finance, reporting, or other business-critical application areas is considered an advantage. - Strong understanding of solution development lifecycle practices, including technical design, build, testing, deployment, documentation, and continuous improvement. - Experience in translating business requirements into practical, scalable, and sustainable technical solutions. - Familiarity with application lifecycle management, release practices, and structured change implementation. - Understanding of integrations, data flows, and automation-related solution components is considered an advantage. - Experience with SQL, data transformations, integrations, and Azure-based solution components is considered an advantage. - Familiarity with technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric or data lake solutions, Power BI data models, Azure Functions, or similar enterprise data and integration technologies is considered an advantage. - Experience in performance tuning, technical troubleshooting, monitoring, and controlled deployment in business-critical application environments is considered an advantage. - Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional IT teams in an international environment. - Experience in maintaining technical documentation and supporting governance-related practices. - Understanding of security, compliance, and risk considerations in IT application and service operations is seen as a benefit. - Strong problem-solving skills, self-driven and structured way of working and a proactive .
