JOB DESCRIPTION You belong to the top echelon of talent in your field. As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Employee Platforms Team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope. Job Responsibilities - Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications - Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate monitoring and capacity analysis and documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements. - Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path - Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems while considering upstream and downstream data and systems or technical implications - Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications and partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses - Accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications - Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches to identify recurring capacity risks and improve remediation workflows, ensuring changes are validated and aligned to resiliency and security expectations. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience - Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as: hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments - Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work setting to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity. - Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations. - Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages - Demonstrated, hands-on production Operations experience administering Oracle Exadata Database Machine in enterprise environments. Deep knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and high-availability operational patterns, including incident response and restoration under time pressure. - Hands-on operational knowledge of Oracle Exadata KVM hosts and Exadata-hosted VMs in production, including day-2 administration, health monitoring, safe maintenance execution, and troubleshooting across VM-to-host performance, network, and storage interactions. Ability to manage virtualization changes under governance with clear sequencing, risk controls, and validation. - Strong Linux administration for Oracle platforms, including system tuning, service management, and troubleshooting during incidents and maintenance windows. - Proven proficiency in scripting and automation for systems and operations (shell scripting, Python, and/or Ansible). - Experience with multiple cloud technologies (ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Experience operating or supporting Oracle Exascale capabilities and its operational model within the organization's implementation, including day-2 run procedures and maintenance practices at scale. - Experience with enterprise automation and infrastructure toolsets such as Ansible, Terraform, and Git-based workflows, applied to operational standardization and repeatable execution. - Experience managing Exadata-hosted VM fleets at scale and Oracle Linux KVM tooling, including standardized builds, capacity management, safe host maintenance, and coordinated patching across hosts and guests. - Experience with cloud and hybrid patterns involving Exadata and Oracle ecosystem services, with an operations focus on reliability, change safety, and observability. - Exposure to enterprise monitoring platforms (for example, Oracle Enterprise Manager or equivalent) and modern observability practices across metrics, logs, and traces, with emphasis on actionable alerting and operational baselines.
