About the Role The Product Costing & Analysis role is crucial for ensuring the financial viability of vehicle projects. This position involves detailed cost analysis and collaboration with various teams to optimize costs and enhance product value. Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed BOM costing for commercial vehiclesPerform should-costing for key componentsAnalyze cost breakdown across systems and identify cost driversDrive cost reduction initiatives across design, sourcing, and manufacturingWork with R&D and engineering teams to implement value engineering (VE) and value analysis (VA)Benchmark costs against competitors and industry standardsPartner with procurement for supplier cost negotiations and RFQ evaluationsCollaborate with manufacturing for process costing and efficiency improvementsSupport program management in cost tracking during product development lifecyclePrepare cost estimates for new product development (NPD) and business casesTrack actual vs. estimated costs and highlight variancesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysisEvaluate supplier quotations and perform cost validationDevelop cost models for localization and alternate sourcing strategiesMonitor commodity price trends impacting vehicle components Qualifications & Experience Education details: Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Experience : 10 Yrs-20 Yrs Required Skills Key commodities such as Sheet Metal/Electrical & Electronics / Proprietary /Interior & Exterior Parts.Expertise in BOM costing and cost modelingProficiency in Excel, ERP systemsKnowledge of should-costing tools and techniques Preferred Skills Experience in the Automobile vehicle industry.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilities .
