We are seeking a motivated Customs House Agent (CHA) Intern to support our import and export operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to customs procedures, logistics coordination, documentation, and international trade compliance. Job SummaryThe CHA Intern will assist in managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for imported and exported shipments. The role requires close coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, logistics partners, shipping lines, and internal teams to ensure timely clearance while maintaining compliance with applicable customs regulations. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in international logistics, customs compliance, and global supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities Customs ClearanceAssist in customs clearance for import and export shipments.Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHAs) and customs authorities.Monitor shipment progress and ensure timely clearance.Support the preparation and submission of customs-related documents.Import & Export DocumentationPrepare and verify invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, certificates of origin, and other shipping documents.Ensure documentation accuracy before customs submission.Maintain organized records of all import and export transactions.ComplianceAssist in ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade policies.Monitor documentation for regulatory requirements.Support duty calculations, HS code verification, and shipment classifications where applicable.Logistics CoordinationCoordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, shipping lines, and warehouse teams.Track shipments from origin to destination.Resolve shipment delays by communicating with relevant stakeholders.Data Management & ReportingMaintain shipment trackers and logistics reports.Update internal databases with shipment status and documentation.Prepare periodic reports for the Operations team.Cross-Functional SupportWork closely with Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, and Operations teams.Assist in process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency.Support additional operational tasks as required. Skills & Qualifications Educational QualificationPursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in:Supply Chain ManagementLogisticsInternational BusinessCommerceBusiness AdministrationOr a related disciplineTechnical SkillsBasic knowledge of import/export procedures.Understanding of customs documentation is an advantage.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.Strong documentation and record-management skills.Soft SkillsExcellent organizational and time management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Effective verbal and written communication.High attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Eagerness to learn and adapt.
