Role Overview:- Job Title: Senior/Lead AI Engineer - Gen AI & Agentic AI Role: Senior/Lead AI Engineer - Gen AI & Agentic AI Location: Pune, India About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior/Lead AI Engineer - Gen AI & Agentic AI to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade AI solutions powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, Advanced RAG, and contemporary AI frameworks. You will play a key role in architecting scalable AI applications, mentoring team members, and driving AI innovation from concept to production. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and deploy production-grade LLM-powered applications using Python. - Architect and implement Agentic AI systems with multi-agent orchestration, tool calling, memory, and workflow automation. - Design and optimize Advanced RAG pipelines using vector databases, hybrid search, and enterprise knowledge sources. - Develop and integrate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and AI tool integrations. - Build and optimize prompt engineering strategies, AI evaluations, and guardrails for enterprise use cases. - Optimize token usage, latency, and cost for production AI applications. - Integrate AI models using REST APIs, SDKs, and cloud AI services such as Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry. - Build AI solutions using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, and LlamaIndex. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready AI solutions. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to AI best practices, architecture, and technical decision-making. - Stay current with emerging GenAI technologies, frameworks, and industry trends. Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field. - 610 years of software development experience with at least 3 years in AI/ML or Generative AI. - Strong proficiency in Python and API development. - Hands-on experience with: - Large Language Models (LLMs) - Agentic AI and multi-agent frameworks - Advanced RAG architectures - Prompt Engineering - Embeddings, semantic search, and vector databases - Model Context Protocol (MCP) - Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks. - Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI APIs, or equivalent cloud AI platforms. - Strong understanding of token optimization, model evaluation, observability, and performance tuning. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills. Nice-to-Have - Experience with Claude APIs, GitHub Copilot integrations, or enterprise AI copilots. - Knowledge of fine-tuning, LLMOps, and MLOps. - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to React, Streamlit, or Gradio for AI application development. - Experience building enterprise-scale AI solutions on Azure or other cloud platforms. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
