Role: VP & Head of Engineering [CTO] Exp: 16-25 Years Academic: BE/ B Tech Engineering Location: Gurugram HR Domain and Industry: FMCG and Industrial Manufacturing Role Objective: The Engineering Head will be Taking complete ownership of Engineering Delivery in Green Field Projects, Utility Selection, Sizing and Maintenance across all disciplines, ensuring Design Engineering and Intent, Constructability, Safety, Quality, and Schedule objectives are met. The role demands Strong Leadership, Cross Functional Collaboration, and technical decision-making. Brief Job Role and Key Deliverable: A. Engineering Management - Lead the End-to-End Engineering function including Concept Design, Development, and Product Engineering in Green field Projects. - Review and approve engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications. - Drive value engineering, cost optimization, and product standardization initiatives. - Ensure timely release of engineering documents for production and new facility setup. - Coordinate closely with Production, Purchase, Sales, Projects, and Service teams. - Support new product development and continuous product improvements. - Resolve engineering challenges related to manufacturing and customer requirements. B. Quality Management - Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions across incoming, in-process, and final inspection. - Establish and monitor quality systems, SOPs, inspection plans, and quality standards. - Analyze customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). - Conduct Root Cause Analysis using quality tools such as 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, Pareto, etc. - Monitor quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives. - Ensure compliance with ISO Quality Management Systems and statutory quality requirements. - Lead internal quality audits and support external/customer audits. C. Process Improvement - Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvement initiatives. - Improve productivity while reducing rejection, rework, and wastage. - Standardize manufacturing and inspection processes. - Implement preventive quality practices across manufacturing. D. Consultant & Client Coordination: - Manage Design Engineering Consultants and review their outputs for quality, compliance, and completeness. - Act as the primary engineering interface with the client. - Lead technical discussions, design development workshops, and resolution of comments. E. Team Leadership - Lead and mentor Engineering and Quality teams. - Develop team capabilities through coaching and technical training. - Allocate responsibilities, review performance, and build succession plans. - Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. F. Cross Functional Coordination - Work closely with Production, SCM, R&D;, Projects, Sales, and Customer Service teams. - Support customer visits, technical discussions, and quality improvement meetings. - Coordinate with suppliers for quality improvements and vendor development Preferred candidate profile - BE/ B Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on large industrial projects. - Shall have 15-20 Years of experience in Engineering and Quality functions within a manufacturing organization. - Experience in Industrial Equipment, Heavy Engineering, Machinery Manufacturing, Capital Goods, or OEM industry will be preferred. - Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, assembly, welding, and manufacturing processes. - Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, and manufacturing standards. - Hands-on experience in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001). - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies. - Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities. - Excellent leadership and people management skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight timelines. .
